Destination Door County to Take Part in “Bookmobile, Books, and Booyah” Event

August 29, 2024 – Door County, WI. Join Destination Door County (DDC) for a stewardship plan presentation on Saturday, September 14 at the Belgian Heritage Center.

The plan will be presented at 10 am ahead of the “Bookmobile, Books, and Booyah” event that is held in conjunction with the Belgian Heritage Center and the Egg Harbor Historical Society Bookmobile.

DDC initiated the creation of the plan last year and was guided by a steering committee of local leaders representing a variety of sectors and interests. It is designed to bring together Door County’s 19 distinctive communities to create a shared vision and strategic path forward for the future of tourism in the region.

The plan is intended to serve as a long-term roadmap to guide tourism strategy, investment, and identify opportunities for community partners, business leaders and local municipalities. It will provide actionable steps toward achieving a common vision for Door County’s future.

After the presentation stay for conversation, tour the newly renovated Bookmobile and learn about the important role it played in our rural communities from 1964 to 1990 and purchase booyah to-go for $10/quart. Authors will also be in attendance for a book signing. Scheduled to attend:  Fr. Edward Looney, Louise Endres Moore, Christine DeSmet and Virginia Johnson.

The Belgian Heritage Center is located at 1255 County Rd DK, Brussels, WI.  For more information, visit belgianheritagecenter.org
