The Power of Tourism
Tourism plays a critical role in supporting our residents and is the reason so many unique experiences, attractions, and things like restaurants, parks, and entertainment venues are available in Door County for all to enjoy.
Tax dollars generated from visitors financially support municipal governments throughout the county and have helped pay for many park upgrades and public green space expansions. They also provide funding for the Community Investment Fund, which provides grant opportunities for non-profit groups and local governments to help fund a wide variety of projects that benefit both residents and visitors.
The most recent economic impact study on Door County's visitor economy was released in June 2025 and reflects information from calendar year 2024. A convenient 2-page summary fact sheet is available here, or, view the view full report here from research firm Tourism Economics.
Economic impact information for calendar year 2025 will be released in June 2026.
